Fritz leaned his ass against the wall of the hangar. The man who called himself Deckard was zip tied to a chair in front of him. That had to hurt like a bitch.
“What are we waiting for?”
Jason shifted, his shoulder brushing off Fritz’s. “Grif.” He nodded in the direction of Deckard. “We want intel. Grif is the one to get it.” He paused for a second. “Are you squeamish?”
“What the fuck?”
“Grif’s methods are more Fallen Eagles than Delta,” Jason told him, “You remember when that fucker shot Micah out here, when I was in London?”
“The one who gave the intel on Dom?”
“Yup,” Jason confirmed. “I imagine it was Grif who did the interrogation then.”
“Yeah.” Fritz couldn’t help the shudder that ran through him. Christ, had that really been two years ago? He could still hear the man’s screams as if it had been yesterday.
“Now, add in the possibility that this dude is somehow connected to the fuckers who kidnapped Lexi and shot Rock in the head...”
“Oh fuck.” Fritz winced. “It’s not going to be pretty.”
“Nope.”
“Will we have anything left of him?”
“Fuck knows,” Jason answered. “We will have intel, though. At the end of the day, G is too much of an operator not to get the intel before he kills him.”
“He can’t kill me,” Deckard spoke for the first time. “I’m Department of Justice. Someone will notice I am missing. They know I was coming here.”
“You think we give a shit?” Fritz shrugged. “You come after our family; you pay the price.”
“The DOJ just wants to talk to Rourke Moran.”
“Like he said,” Jason smirked at the prisoner. “You come after our family; you pay the price.”
“Rourke Moran is nothing to you.” The man was clearly confused. His tone told them so.
“Rourke Moran is a Delta son, that makes him family.”
The corner of Fritz’s mouth lifted in a slight smile at Jason’s claim that Rourke was family. Jason and Castello may not have been on the same Delta team, but Delta was their own family, one forged on the field of war. That Jason would claim the son of one of Fritz’s men as a member of his family was one of the reasons that kept him coming back to Jason. It was one of the many little things that made Jason the man who spoke to his soul.
I am so screwed! Why the fuck am I thinking happily ever after with a man who doesn’t do commitment unless it’s to his flag and country?
